The Languages Institute wants to honor professor Carlos Ortega García well known as Charlie who had worked at the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente for 16 years.
Professor Ortega graduated from Berchmans school and he studied architecture at Andes University in Bogotá.
He was always recognized by his sense of humor, responsibility and supportive relationships.
Professor Carlos was a dessert and dog lover. He was also a reader and a teacher with a vast cultural background.
Professor Ortega was the creator of the Honor Roll ceremony at the Languages Institute. His favorite song was “The Impossible Dream” and his favorite music genre was classical.
The Languages Institute mourns his death and the irreparable loss. A thought of comfort and condolences to the grieving family, friends, students and colleagues at the Languages Institute who lost an invaluable English teacher and a friend. Carlos Ortega, you will always be remembered for your kindness and friendship. May God give you the eternal rest.
